Mundus intellectualis (1617)

6. Robert Fludd

This is the world of the highest intelligence, which is formed by reason (Ratio), intellect (Intellectus) and mind (Mens). This area enables us as human beings to reach up to the divine, but also to receive communications from the divine realm. At the top is Deus (God), who is surrounded by the angelic orders. This is the area through which we can form an image of the divine world, but also get messages ‘from beyond’, flashes of insight, of intuition. It symbolises the divine that is immanent in the cosmos, in nature and also in us human beings, according to Hermetic philosophy.
