The Worldheart Foundation

The Worldheart Foundation owns the building 'House with the Heads' and the collection of the Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica.

The Worldheart Foundation was founded by Joost R. Ritman on 21 March 2015 to secure a permanent place in society for his life work, the Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica. The foundation’s name is based on one of Ritman’s pithy sayings, that Amsterdam has a heart able to accommodate the whole world.

The aim of the Worldheart Foundation is to develop an ‘Embassy of the Free Mind’ in the House with the Heads together with institutional partners and innovative thinkers and actors, a platform for a wide range of activities that are intimately related to the body of thought preserved in the Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica (BPH).
In addition, the foundation is set up to help accommodate the BPH in the House with the Heads as a museum library and develop an active international fundraising policy to expand the collection and the expertise of the BPH in the broadest possible sense.

The board of the foundation consists of Esther Ritman (chair), Drs. Peter Huijs (secretary), Carel Hes (treasurer) and Menno Tummers and Paul Hughes.
