Virtual tour

Because not everyone is able to visit us in person, we have developed a virtual tour! Now everyone can get a glimpse of a visit to our museum which has been captured through 360 degrees photography.

Discover the Grail of Amsterdam, our colourful garden filled with wild flowers or take a look at one of our exhibitions. The images on display in the museum are almost all from the Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica Collection, the library collection founded more than sixty years ago by Joost Ritman. To discover our virtual tour full screen see below, or click here!

Curious after the virtual tour? Check out our current opening hours here.

We are open from Wednesday – Saturday between 10.00 – 17.00h. You must now, however, book your ticket online in advance, even if you have an annual pass/Museumkaart/Stadspas/ICOM pass. This way, we can ensure a safe visit in accordance with Government rules.

Online tickets
For a regular museum visit, you are not obliged to book an online ticket in advance. However, to be ensured of a visit, we do recommend you reserve an online ticket for a specific time slot. You can do so here

A maximum of 30 visitors is allowed in the museum at any time. It may be that you will have to wait a little before you can actually enter the museum, due to previous visits that are being concluded. In case it’s very busy, tickets are valid for 3 hours at most.

What to bring? A pair of headphones and a charged phone/tablet.
We have developed an audio tour that guides you through the museum's highlights. You can listen to this audio tour on your phone/tablet (so make sure it's sufficiently charged) and with your own headphones or earbuds. We do not sell earbuds. If you don't have a phone/tablet, we have iPads available for loan.

We have also developed 6 self-guided tours that you can do at your own pace.
You can find them in the Great Hall on the table.
The topics are:

  1. Hermetic Philosophy
  2. Alchemy
  3. Kabbalah
  4. The House with the Heads
  5. Rosicrucians
  6. The Grail Tour. Twice a day, there are group tours (at 10:30 and 14:30), which you can book here.

For more information about a planned visit to our museum, see the visit conditions here.
